Porselvi came to Chennai in 2000 mainly to see the actor Vijay, but while walking on the road, some spot boys saw her and pulled her into a situation she had not expected. They told her to go to a place where they would meet Vijay, but instead, people from the AVM Studio office took her to Banyan.

After that, she spent a few days in a women’s shelter. She then returned to her native place to meet her mother, stayed with her, got married, and had a child. However, her mother and aunt took her child and gave the baby up for adoption, saying she could not raise a child due to mental health issues. Things worsened after her mother passed away, and an honest man helped her get to Banyan. She started working and has continued ever since.

She said, “I worked at one job from 2017 until 2024, and now I work at SIEMAT Canteen in a guest house, doing errands, attending meetings, and managing my own needs while living in a women’s home.”

She shared, “Life is hard and managing rent, food, and children’s needs takes most of my wages, but I try to help my family. Even though life has become tougher than before, I keep going, wishing there were safe and secure places for people like us.”

Follow us:
Website: https://www.outlookindia.com/
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Outlookindia
Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/outlookindia/
X: https://twitter.com/Outlookindia
Whatsapp: https://whatsapp.com/channel/0029VaNrF3v0AgWLA6OnJH0R
Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@OutlookMagazine
Dailymotion: https://www.dailymotion.com/outlookindia

#WorldMentalHealthDay #BreakTheStigma #MentalHealth #FreedomFromStigma #RightToHappiness #EverydayIPrayForLove #IHaveALotLeftInside #DignityForAll #OutlookMagazine
